Karla Flores Jaime graduated from Portland State University (PSU) in 2020 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. She joined PSU SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) during her freshman year and served as President in her senior year. During her presidency, Karla was nominated as the 2019 RLDC 1 Student Chair, leading her team in organizing a successful Regional Leadership Development Conference—hosted in Portland, OR for the first time.
Karla currently works as a Mechanical Engineer II at SSOE Group. As President of SHPE Oregon, she is committed to elevating the chapter’s visibility at both the regional and national levels. Karla is passionate about making engineering a more inclusive field for women and people of color. She firmly believes that true progress happens when we uplift one another as we grow in our careers.
In her free time, Karla enjoys karaoke, running, weightlifting, cooking, photography, fishing, and watching movies.
